1999 04 01 First Announced
1999 05 01 Booking for Delivery 1999 05 30
1999 05 01 - An upgrade to the highly successful Apache and Apache Deluxe introduced in 1998. Upgrades include...
- High visibility graphics with very different top and bottom views.
- No glue needed. Wing bolts together. Horizontal and vertical stabilizers bolt on. All gluing has been done in the factory. 30 Minute Epoxy recommended for Engines larger than .40. See instruction booklet for further advice.
- Bolt-On construction allows modeller to take the Apache II apart for easier transport if required.
- Dubro clevises.
- Steel pushrods in plastic guide tubes. Rods threaded on clevis end
- One piece elevator with metal joiner wire inserted at factory. No Y connector or split elevator push rod.
- Super Duty Main Landing Gear consisting of 2.5mm aluminum and 5/32" wire clamped to aluminum.
- Nose gear block has been moved to front of firewall for easy adjustment with allen wrench through chin block access hole.
- Flaperon Ready. This feature allows modellers to use one aileron servo initially and then later add a second aileron servo for use with a computer radio and get the benefits of flaps! This brings a whole new dimension to flying and extends the concept of an ARF trainer well beyond learning the basics of RC flight.
- Detailing embedded into the graphics scheme. More panel lines and greatly enhanced warning and instructional detail printed right on the model. Not decals... printed right into the covering.
- Continuation of the Apache tradition with all parts needed to make the Apache in either Trike or Tail Dragger configuration and to use either nylon bolts or rubber bands to attach the wing.
- New Box Art.
1999 10 23 - Main Landing Gear upgraded from composite type consisting of Aluminum and Wire to an Ultra Duty version made of Fibreglass. Fibreglass offers lighter performance and resists bending more so than metal. This is a first in ARF's in this class.
- Hinges glued and pinned. All inboard and outboard hinges are now pinned with four metal pins holding the hinge permanently in place. Ailerons, Rudder and Elevator cannot separate in flight. This is a first in ARF's in this class.
- New detailed and illustrated instruction booklet with secondary booklet summarizing accessories and options.
- Upgraded wheels. New lightweight treaded contoured wheels replace earlier square shouldered non-treaded wheels.
- Covering better bonded to substrate using proprietary VMAR covering system.
2000 03 01 - Wing Saddle reoriented to move CG forward by approximately 3/8-1/2 in.
- Parts packed in sub-bags for easier sorting and relation to instruction booklet.
- Front cutaway in area of muffler stack modified and expanded to accomodate wider range of engine/muffler combinations without modification to fuselage.
- Fuel tank hatch extended by approximately 1 inch to make for easier access to fuel tank compartment.
- New Display and Shipping Boxes to eliminate staples and improve box strength.
- Parts Bags changed to higher strength and flexible plastic to prevent bags bursting and spilling parts into box interior as the result of rough handling during shipping.
